Brian Krans

Brian Krans is an award-winning investigative and political reporter, Edward R. Murrow-winning radio producer, and former fellow of the Investigative Reporting Program at the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism. His work has been featured in and on KQED, The California Report, The East Bay Express, Healthline, Salon and other outlets. He lives in Oakland, Calif. and is the author of four books.

Surveillance video shows then-Detective Kent Tribble repeatedly struck Enrique Cruz, 29, as Cruz sat in a holding cell inside the Vallejo Police Department in 2012. Tribble has since been promoted to lieutenant, and is as a senior member of the department's command staff.
