Vallejo police and allied agencies spent hours searching for an armed suspect after three people were shot, two fatally, near a homeless encampment situated between two state highways Monday afternoon.

Police took one person into custody on an outstanding warrant near the encampment, which sits on the White Slough near Sonoma Boulevard and Highway 37, Vallejo police spokesperson Sgt. Rashad Hollis told Open Vallejo. It was not immediately clear whether the person was connected with the shooting.
