A truck fire in Vallejo last Friday brought neighbors and firefighters together to prevent the blaze from spreading to nearby homes and vehicles. The fire started at 5:45 p.m. on Yolo Avenue near Arkansas Street, engulfing a parked pickup truck in flames.

Neighbors used garden hoses to combat the fire, but the flames spread to a nearby field of dry grass and weeds and ignited a parked RV.

Witnesses reported that neighbors helped a woman struggling to exit the RV before firefighters arrived.

Neighbors noted that volunteers had recently cleaned up a large amount of dry grass and weeds in the area, which they believe helped prevent more extensive damage.
