Police are investigating the city’s third homicide of the year after a man was stabbed in north Vallejo on Tuesday night.

At approximately 10:31 p.m., police received a report that a man had been stabbed in the chest near a Valero gas station on the 2800 block of Redwood Parkway, according to dispatch audio and a department press release.

The man was awake and talking when officers arrived, but within two minutes officers reported that he was unconscious, according to dispatch audio. First responders administered chest compressions at the scene, and he was taken to a local hospital where he later died.

Vallejo police spokesperson Sgt. Rashad Hollis did not respond to a request for comment. Solano County Sheriff’s Sgt. Lisa McDowell declined to name the victim Thursday, noting that police were still in the process of contacting next of kin.

On Feb. 14, a woman died after being shot in the chest on the 400 block of Sheldon Avenue. Ten days later, officers arrested 27-year-old Imani Marquise Robinson on suspicion of murder. An arraignment scheduled for April 1 was continued, court records show.

On Jan. 24, police arrested 22-year-old Maximilian Snyder in connection with the Jan. 17 killing of Curtis Lind, whose death brought international attention to a group of bright young people allegedly linked to half a dozen deaths across the country. Snyder pleaded not guilty in Solano County Superior Court on March 26.
