Evangelina Humphrey was born in San Antonio, Texas on Jan. 7, 1944, and passed away on May 10, 2025 in Fairfield, Calif.

Evangelina came to California with her family as a child. She was a hard-working caregiver and mother of four children, Michael, Cindie, Darryl, and Sean. With 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, Vangie, as her family and friends knew her, was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her two youngest sons, Darryl and Sean Mefferd. 

Vangie enjoyed taking rides with her son, playing bingo and blackjack, cooking, listening to music, reading, horses, and dragonflies. She also loved her fur babies, Hands, Chica, and Papi.

Vangie was a devout Catholic who always said her Rosary twice daily. During her life, she also contributed to charities for animals and children. Vangie’s soft-spoken strength will be undoubtedly missed by all who knew and Loved Her.
