Timothy Irvin Brice was born on Feb. 11, 1957, in Oakland, California. Timothy was the son of George Brice and the late Eletha (Jacobs) Brice, whom he joined in eternal rest.

Throughout his remarkable life, Timothy exhibited a passion for learning and service. He was a proud member of the Boy Scouts, where he earned every badge, embodying the spirit of commitment and honor. He was passionate about collecting baseball cards and reading comic books, all while enjoying a perfectly lathered PB&J sandwich. He over-excelled academically, achieving the highest level of excellence in his education at Castlemont High School in Oakland, California. His dedication to knowledge and community led him to proudly serve in the U.S. Army overseas in Germany.

Timothy’s faith propelled him into a life devoted to Christ, where he actively engaged in church activities and selflessly served others. He embodied and displayed unwavering dedication, showcasing each fruit of the spirit: love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance.

Professionally, Timothy made significant contributions in various roles, leaving a lasting impact on all who crossed his path. His tenure at AT&T as a Communications Technician was where he found the love of his life, Gwendolyn Brice.

For 27 years, Timothy served at Merritt College as Head Custodian, and during his last year before retiring in 2018, he was the Interim Vice President at Peralta Community College District. His leadership qualities and the respect he received from his peers are a testament to his dedication and commitment to excellence.

Timothy’s invaluable contributions were honored with Emeritus Status by the Board of Trustees of Peralta Community College District, recognizing his years of meritorious service.

After retiring, in 2019–2020, Timothy became an Alameda County Civil Grand Jury Nominee and served as a Committee Member dedicated to serving his community.

Timothy found solace and joy not only in his professional pursuits but also in various sports, with basketball, football, hockey, golf, tennis, and soccer ranking among his favorites. He possessed a deep understanding of the rules across these sports to such an extent that he could likely coach in any of them. His wise counsel extended to friends, children, and grandchildren.

Timothy Irvin Brice, beloved husband, father, brother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on Dec. 3, 2023, at the age of 66. Timothy was the embodiment of a devoted family man, possessing loyalty, intellect, humor, and unwavering friendship.
