Vanessa Flores is an investigative reporter based in the Bay Area.

A data researcher for KQED, Vanessa contributes to the California Reporting Project, a collaboration of 40 news organizations seeking to illuminate uses of force and police misconduct in California. Vanessa holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Humboldt State University, where she was Editor in Chief of El Leñador, the university’s English and Spanish student newspaper. She is currently a student at UC Berkeley’s Graduate School of Journalism, where she focuses on visual journalism and filmmaking.
