Subuk Hasnain is an investigative reporter focused on multimedia journalism and longform storytelling. Originally from Pakistan, she spent nearly four years reporting in Karachi, where she published in-depth stories on topics ranging from public transportation to capital punishment. Before that, she was a reporter in Chicago, where she covered local government and business.

Subuk earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism from DePaul University. Now a graduate student at the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism, she is drawn to stories of marginalized communities in the United States, and across the world.
